What Alice is reading?

Alice saw the book indications sent by our crew and selected some. She is amazed by the non existent " the thousand faces of Alice" by the book collector and nexialist @semperluxus! She than she became fascinated by Raymond Queneau's "Exercices de style", a collection of 99 retellings of the same story. Adventurer in the lands of dreams, she selected "La vida es sueño" by Calderón de la Barca and "Book of Dreams" by the beatnik Jack Kerouac. "Life, what is it but a dream?" asked Lewis Carroll. She also selected "Memories, dreams and reflections" by Karl Gustav Jung, diving into the mysteries of the collective unconscious. 

 She chose “A Brief History of Time” by Stephen Hawking, in the search for answers to some of humanity's greatest doubts: What is the origin of the universe? Is he infinite? Has it always existed, or was there a beginning and will there be an end? And what will happen when it's all over? In “Mulheres Mitos e Deusas” by Martha Roble she seeks to understand the feminine, she came into contact with the history and dilemmas experienced by figures such as Aphrodite, Cinderella, Simone de Beauvoir and Virginia Woolf, on a journey to redefine the role of women in the world. 

She felt her innocence and naivety challenged reading "Songs of Innocence and Experience" by William Blake, a collection of illustrated poems by the visionary artist. She felt intrigued by the controversial Lolita, considering Nabokov's interest in Lewis Carroll. She also choose to read “The Clockwock Alice” by Deanna Knippling, "How all these books are connected with my oneiric experiences? How they deal with the questions I live in my adventures?" She wondered.

What the Lobster of Alice in Wonderland is reading?

The Lobster began a research about children literature among his species and adored “Logan the lobster” (@madam.ziva). According to @Barbben50 he is fascinated with adventures as “The Last of the Mohicans”, and specially adventures in the sea like “Moby Dick” (@ jacquelineosorioj.o) and under the sea like "Twenty Thousand Leagues under the Seas" (@semperluxus). But after became famous working with Elsa Schiaparelli and Salvador Dali in the creation of the Lobster dress, (@annamaria.1901) he came to live in human civilization working as an editor in overseas publishers and sharing his expertise in balls and quadrilles. There is a legend that he even choreographed the balls in one obscure movie based on “Pride and prejudice” acted by creatures by the sea. @niveacg said that according to the gestalt of the creature, it reads “Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance”!

What the Gryphon from Wonderland is reading?

@Barbben50 has been impressed by the life of Alexander the Great since the childhood and suggested "Fire from Heaven: A Novel of Alexander the Great ''. @annamaria.1901 revealed about the Alexander the Great chariot pulled by winged griffins. She also suggested "The mad women's ball" by Victoria Mas and explained the connection: "1)Madness,hysteria, bipolar disorder can mean live in the world longing for the sky. 2) Ball: means of liberation. 3) Gryphon: heaven and heart can coexist." 

@katiatejada suggested “Édipo Rei” by Sófocles and, facing the doubts, mentioned the crisis of identity of the Gryphon searching for the Sphinx. @semperluxus sent the amazing idea to the Gryphon to read, and possibly visit “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them" by Newt Scamander and r J K Rowling, which features an extraordinary array of magical creatures, and has delighted generations of wizarding readers. 

Another option for the Gryphon is to visit Metamorphoses by Ovid. The poem chronicles the history of the world from its creation to the deification of Julius Caesar in a mythico-historical framework comprising over 250 myths. 

The griffin, griffon, or gryphon that also lives in Wonderland is a legendary creature with the body, tail, and back legs of a lion; the head and wings of an eagle. Griffins, like many other fictional creatures, frequently appear within works under mythology and the fantasy genre. Since classical antiquity, griffins have been known for guarding treasures.

O que a cozinheira da Duquesa do país das maravilhas está lendo? What the Duchess 's cook from Wonderland is reading?

The purpose of this collagistic game is to have fun together more than a competition. But I have to select some of the suggested books, even when I admire all the ideas. The selection is moved by multiple criteria from creativity, humor, word play to research and diversity. The title, the author, the theme, the cover count. The book can fit to the meanings related to the character or can be the exactly the opposite creating estrangement and surprise. Thanks to everybody that participated and are having fun with us in this crew. O objetivo deste jogo colagístico é nos divertirmos juntos mais do que uma competição. Mas tenho que selecionar alguns dos livros sugeridos, mesmo quando admiro todos. A seleção é movida por múltiplos critérios envolvendo criatividade, humor, jogo de palavras, pesquisa e diversidade. Os títulos, os autores, os temas e as capas contam. Os livros podem se adequar aos significados relacionados ao personagem nos livros de Alice ou podem traduzir aparentes contradições, criando estranhamento e surpresas interessantes.
