"Pictures in the Water Series proclaim: there it is, but it can't be, but there it is; an energized, subconscious dialogue between picture and viewer. You may be looking up when you think you're looking down. Even though these images are unmanipulated photographs, they can have great mystery about what they are. The studio is my laboratory, where I work to present subtle evidence that something is impossible; and yet there it, unquestionably, is".
