This setting of Lewis Carroll's How Doth the Little Crocodile from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland was composed for the Aldeburgh English Song Project in 2013 and first performed by the soprano Alexandra Hutton. One of the aims in composing this short piece, lasting approximately two minutes, was to explore both Alice's distressed character and the surrealism of Wonderland through the use of varied vocal techniques and irregular rhythms. The score was revised in 2022 and can now be heard in a recent recording made in London by the British-Pakistani soprano Mimi Doulton.

 The original version of Neuschwanstein’s Alice in Wonderland had narration in German but, for the first time, this has been replaced with English language parts read by Sonja Kristina of Curved Air. Musically this 1976 album belongs among the great prog albums and sits between Rick Wakeman’s and Jeff Wayne’s iconic narrated rock albums.

This edition has been re-mastered with a booklet that includes two separate sets of liner notes (with rare images) on the history of the band and Sonja Kristina’s 2022 vocal sessions.

Sonja Kristina said of the release “I was delighted to narrate this wonderful psychedelic musical version of Alice’s dream in a dramatic instrumental landscape. I loved Alice in Wonderland as a child and I’ve really enjoyed returning to the magic of this story. This album deserves to be thought of as a classic progressive rock album of the 1970s, so I’m pleased to have recorded the narration for it.” This was the only mid-1970s album in the ‘Narrated Rock’ genre to be unavailable in English...until now.

"For my part in the show, I decided to tell the story of how Alice in Wonderland was born — because the 2016 TED theme was “Dream” and this is the greatest dream-allegory of all time; because the Carroll classic is one of the most beloved and most philosophical children’s books ever written, with perennial themes of agency, integrity, and critical thinking; because I consider it one of the foundational feminist texts in literary history.

And since Alice in Wonderland originated the expression “down the rabbit hole,” which has become a central metaphor for our Information Age, I asked Amanda to bring her magic to Jefferson Airplane’s wonderful 1967 song “White Rabbit” — which she did, magnificently, with aurally psychedelic help from Vancouver’s Balkan brass orchestra, Orkestar Šlivovica, and musician Jherek Bischoff, who collaborated with Amanda on her sublime Bowie tribute.  A glittering and crazed work by Chin and librettist David Henry Hwang, the riotous exhilaration and jet-black humour of the score meet their match tonight in Netia Jones’s tour de force production. Celebrated for her innovative multimedia creations, including Britten’s Curlew River at St Giles Cripplegate in 2013, director/designer/video artist Jones realises her vision of the composer’s surreal take on Carroll by combining the darkly imaginative illustrations of gonzo-artist Ralph Steadman with live action, interactive animated projections, eye-popping costumes and choreography.

His sudden death at 42 caused nationwide mourning. Numerous monuments across Russia are raised in his memory. His importance for Russian culture is hard to overestimate."

"Kyary Pamyu Pamyu at the "Table of Dreams" exhibition at Time Out Cafe Gallery in Tokyo along with Sebastian Masuda of Harajuku fashion brand 6%DOKIDOKI. The appearance included an animated movie, a performance by Kyary-chan, and a talk show with Kyary and Sebastian. The exhibition at Time Out Cafe Tokyo runs through December 24th and features original sets from Kyary's "Tsukema Tsukeru" music video.
